A vintage house in the middle of Phu Nhuan

Turn off Nguyen Trong Tuyen into alley 313 and you will find a three storey house with a red tiled roof, green wooden shutters, a stone facade and climbing plants down one side. At dusk, when the lamps come on, it looks more like a corner of an old town than a place to stay in the middle of Saigon.

One house, five stories

Inside are five rooms, each following its own design direction: Amalfi in European vintage, Cherie with a French accent and a green tiled balcony, Indochine in classic Indochinese style, Soho inspired by old Hong Kong, and Zen in Japanese minimalism.

What they share is the light. We chose warm lamps over white ones, heavy curtains to soften the midday sun, and kept as many wooden windows as we could so that every room gets real morning light.

The details we fuss over

A freestanding bathtub facing the window. A projector screen that turns the room into a small cinema. A sofa bed so you can stretch out for a film without climbing back into bed. A wooden desk by the window, wide enough to open a laptop and work for half a day.

The desk nook beside the wooden window, with its hanging birdcage and small brass lamp, is the most photographed spot in the house.

Quiet, and still convenient

ChiMi sits in a residential neighbourhood on a wide alley, with car access right to the door. Tan Son Nhat Airport is about fifteen minutes away, and District 1 is roughly fifteen to twenty minutes depending on traffic. Cafes, local restaurants and corner shops are all within a short walk, so evenings never require a trip across town.

Guests often tell us ChiMi suits a slow reset, a few days of remote work, or simply escaping the city without leaving it. We think that is a fair description.
